Bill Gavzy

Bill Gavzy is the owner and President of GavzyConsulting. He is an expert in affordable housing, community development, and in research, database development, owner representation, and property management relating to these fields. Bill has over 40 years of diverse experience in planning, designing, developing, building and managing the built environment. He is both a past Registered Architect and a current Licensed Attorney. He has been an Urban Planner for the New York City Planning Department, a Project Architect and Project Manager for several architectural firms in New Jersey and Minnesota, a real estate developer in Minnesota, and from 1988 until 2003, the co-founder and co-owner of The Gavzy Group, one of Minnesota's largest firms to manage affordable housing and supportive housing communities.


He served for five years as a Commissioner of the Saint Louis Park (MN) Housing Authority and an additional five years as its Chairperson. He is the author of the Twin Cities Low-Income Housing Income Expense Analysis published annually by the Family Housing Fund from 1992 through 2005. Bill has also been on the American Arbitration Association's national panel of arbitrators since 1986 and has served as an arbitrator in over 250 real estate, construction, architectural and securities cases. Bill earned a bachelor of science degree and a bachelor of architecture degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York as well as a juris doctorate degree from the Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey.
